Join Matt and his team of chefs and get all the behind the scenes info on Heritage’s kitchen. Spend a couple of hours with the chefs preparing for the day’s service and then join us for a long, leisurely lunch in our dining room and enjoy a four course menu featuring dishes that you helped to prepare.

What’s On in Sussex
Here at Heritage, we are fortunate to be nestled in the glorious West Sussex countryside surrounded by a number of popular sites and destinations. We are also a short driving distance from Gatwick & Heathrow airport and a quick train journey from central London. So, if you’re visiting Sussex for an event, catching an early flight out of Gatwick, or after a weekend away in the countryside – why not stay with us?
Here are some of our favourite events & venues local to us.
Hickstead Racecourse – 7.5 miles
Hickstead is home to the All England Jumping Course and the showground remains one of the premier equestrian venues in the world. Almost every great show jumper, horse and rider, has competed at Hickstead since 1960. As we are a short 10 minute drive from the showground – why not make a weekend of it and book one of our dinner, bed & breakfast packages.
Glyndebourne – 25 miles
Glyndebourne, near Lewes, is only a 30 minute drive from us and is one of the finest and most celebrated opera houses in the world and each summer from May to August, they host the Glyndebourne Festival – their “flagship season of world-class opera during which audiences can enjoy opera in our state-of-the-art indoor auditorium”. A key part of the Glyndebourne Festival experience is their 90-minute interval which gives guest a chance to enjoy a picnic in the gardens, which we can prepare for you here at Heritage to take along with you.
Goodwood Estate – 35 miles
Goodwood is less than an hour from us at Heritage and is home to some of Sussex’s most exciting events in motorsport, horse racing and more. The May Festival is a three-day race meeting which “invites you to watch exhilarating horseracing, taste the finest local and national artisan foods and experience inspiring cooking demonstrations”. The Festival of Speed is also worth a visit – billed as the “the largest motoring garden party in the world”.
